How Writanium® is Made

Our process starts with coils of high grade, light gauge cold rolled steel.

1. Pre-Treatment

Steel is chemically cleaned and dried.

2. Ground Coating

A precisely balanced ground coat is applied to both sides for fused, uniform surface.

3. Firing

Steel is fed into a firing furnace to fuse the ground coat to the steel, then shock cooled.

4. Cover Coating

A Writanium® perma-color top coat is applied to give the surface the desired color, finish and fade-resistant characteristics.

5. Firing

A second furnace firing is done to fuse the perma-color top coat to the steel.

6. Quality Control

Surface quality and color consistency are monitored to assure a perfect Writanium® porcelain finish.

7. Product

Finished Writanium® porcelain is converted into Platinum products.
